Morning by morning, God extends His mercies to us. The story of God’s redemptive love, from the first verses of Genesis through to the last pages of Revelation, speaks of the relentlessness of God’s mercy. Like the father who ran to his prodigal son, God’s love runs to overtake us, pick us up off the floor and restore us. He’s the God who’s never given up on us. He’s the mercy at midnight, at the darkest times and the kindness of dawn, when we wake to live another day. In John 1, the Bible tells us that Jesus came, “Full of grace and truth” and that “from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” (John 1:14, 16 ESV)

Day after day, we have the choice to praise Him for the breath in our lungs and the open arms of His never-failing love. The journey of faith calls us to recognise the fingerprints of His goodness and grace as He leads us, step by step through this life. When we pause to see His work in our lives, even the seemingly mundane, simple things become a reason to sing His praises at the top of our lungs. “On Repeat” is an expression of remembrance, daily recalling God’s mercy and favour in our lives and intentionally choosing to lift our focus to the heavens, exalting and glorifying the One who has redeemed and restored us; the God who’s never giving up on us.

ON REPEAT

VERSE 1:

Every time I come running

I find grace on repeat

You welcome me with open arms

No matter where I have been

Every time I surrender

Every time I fall

I find grace more precious

Than I did before

CHORUS 1:

So I’m gonna lay my world down

Here at Your feet

Look to the heavens

For all I need

I’m gonna sing my heart out

Praise on repeat

To the God who’s never given up on me

VERSE 2:

You’re the mercy at midnight

You’re the kindness of dawn

My hope in every waking hour

And the strength I lean on

Every time it comes to sundown

And the night sets in

Let my soul remember

Just how good You’ve been

And again and again

My heart will sing

CHORUS 2:

I’m gonna lay my world down

Here at Your feet

Look to the heavens

For all I need

I’m gonna sing my heart out

Praise on repeat

To the God who’s never given up on me

‘Cause You’re the God

Who’s never giving up on me

BRIDGE:

Grace upon grace

Morning by morning

Day after day will I sing

Praise upon praise

God be exalted

Over and over again

“In every triumph and every failure” God is with us—guiding, comforting and protecting us. “Never Walk Alone” is a song of praise that expresses a heartfelt assurance anchored in the faithfulness of God. This song begins with a meditative remembrance of God’s unfailing love and protection before climbing into a strong chorus of sincere confidence that God has never forsaken us and He will always be our strength, even in the hardest days, “You are faithful and You always will be!”

ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Since the very beginning, God’s glory has been displayed in the heavens—His faithfulness and splendour on parade from the rising of the sun to the place where is sets. These same skies that declare God’s glory day after day and night after night, are the same skies under which Christ Jesus was born, lived, was crucified and rose again in victory.

The disciples saw the Lord ascend into, are the same ones that Jesus Himself will someday return on. Whether in the northern or southern hemisphere, these same skies unite us, all of God’s children, as many as the stars in the sky, just as the Lord promised Abraham. It is under these same skies that Christ’s church, His body on earth, exists today. Though separated by oceans and borders, the mandate of Hillsong Worship continues under these same skies. One in heart and spirit, unified in mission and cause—to glorify the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to build His Church, and to serve His Church with the new song. Songs like “Never Walk Alone” and “That’s The Power,” explore the greatness of the character of God, while “Resurrender” and “Secret Place” lead us back to the altar, surrendering in devotion and stirring a hunger for righteousness.

“These Same Skies” is the first of a two-album release from Hillsong Worship in 2021/2022. Recorded in California, this album is led by worship leaders Brooke Ligertwood, Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Benjamin Hastings, Aodhan King, Chris Davenport, Mi-kaisha Masella (Mi-kaisha Rose) and Tracy Redfern (Saye Pratt).
